Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore is an Hollywood writer and actress who's talent has brought her recognition as well as critical praise. Sagittarius by birth the actress was born December 3 of 1960 in North Carolina. She's the oldest of children of Peter Moore Smith a paratrooper, and Anne, a psychology student. Her parents are of English and Scottish origin. Moore moved frequently with her family due to the work of her father. This was a challenge to keep or meet new acquaintances. After her family relocated to Germany Moore went to Frankfurt American High School where she started appearing in performances. Her education continued at Boston University where she graduated in 1983 with B.F.A. in Theater. Her first appearance was in an episode of The Edge of Night, that aired on TV in 1985. Her break came in 1986 when she played the roles of Sabrina Hughes as well as Frannie Hughes on As the World Changes. She was on the show from 1988 to 1990 and was honored with a Daytime Emmy Award. In 1990, she made her debut as an actress in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie. In the following years, she described it as a low budget film. She appeared in Short Cuts (1993) and 3 Women (1997) both produced by Robert Altman. The first was critically-acclaimed and earned her a number of nominations for it. Moore landed her first leading role in Safe (1995). Steven Spielberg gave Moore her first lead role in Safe (1995). It was 1997 when her career as this actress reached a pivotal stage. Moore was chosen to play the lead role in Jurassic Park: The Lost World. The movie was one of 1997's top-rated films. She was a part of Magnolia (1999) and was critically acclaimed, and earned a SAG nomination for her part. The Hours starred Moore in 2002, and was nominated for the nine Academy Awards along with Nicole Kidman. Moore was also in The Forgotten (2003), Freedomland (2005), Shelter (2010) and many others. In 2014, she starred in Non-Stop. Moore has been featured in numerous movies and TV programs. The most recent of her prominent roles was In 2022: When You Finish Securing the World. The actress has made herself known in Hollywood and is also a children's author. In 2007, she published Freckleface Strawberry and quickly became an N.Y.T. It became a top seller, and was later made into a TV series and musical. Her book of 2013 entitled My Mom Is A Foreigner also became a top-selling. Moore being a popular author and performer, has made her personal life public. She married John Robin in 1984 and they divorced in 1995. Bart Freundlich, whom Moore then married in 2003 has two children with her. Moore's life is all about her children, friends, and profession.
